On 26th June, an electric vehicle fire drill took place in the underground car park of the Horus II building under construction, located in Torre del Mar. The activity was organised by the Malaga Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium, with the participation of the Velez-Malaga Central Fire Station, and had the collaboration of Salsa Inmobiliaria as the project developer and Grupo ORP as the construction company.
The exercise is part of a strategy of continuous improvement in safety protocols in the face of new risk scenarios linked to the growing implementation of electric vehicles, especially in residential environments and enclosed car parks.
During the simulation, the ignition of an electric vehicle was recreated in one of the parking spaces in the basement of the building. This situation made it possible to evaluate, under real site conditions, the effectiveness of current procedures, coordination between units and response times in the event of this type of emergency.
Salsa Inmobiliaria would like to thank the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters for their work and professionalism, as well as highlighting the value of this type of action, which results in greater safety both during the execution phase of the works and in the future useful life of the building.
The results obtained will make it possible to implement improvements and optimise self-protection and fire response plans for electric vehicles in underground parking areas, thus reinforcing the group’s commitment to innovation and safety in urban development.
